Understanding Mobile Sessions (22 อ่าน)

I have been noticing lately how different my brain feels when I am scrolling through my phone compared to when I am actually sitting at my desk. Usually, if I am on my laptop, I am focused on a specific task, but on my phone, it’s like I am just killing time in five-minute bursts while waiting for my coffee or sitting on the bus. It feels way more fragmented and restless. Does anyone else feel like their mobile habits are just a totally different beast compared to their normal digital routines?

I totally get that. For me, its the one handed factor I am usually doing something else while checking my phone, so my patience for slow apps is basically zero. If I have to hunt for a menu, I just close it. I actually read a really insightful breakdown of https://www.oxpoll.com/blog/why-mobile-sessions-feel-different-from-every-other-digital-routine/ that explains this exact vibe. Its less about being online and more about these quick, reactive moments. Now, I try to keep my home screen super minimal so I dont get overwhelmed during those short breaks between meetings.

It is quite a contrast when you look at how people used to interact with technology even ten years ago. Back then, you’d have to actually set aside time to go online, and it was a whole event. Now, it seems like everyone is constantly tethered to a device regardless of where they are or what they are doing. You can see it in any park or cafe—people are physically present but clearly occupied with something else entirely.
